We provide solutions for controlling sound
in both existing and new construction. Our recent projects include: churches,
industrial buildings, offices and a music studio. The publications below provide
a general introduction to controlling sound as well as technical documents
showing how to construct a sound-deadening wall/floor system.
North
American Insulation Manufacturer's Association produced a 10 page
pamplet introducing the homeowner to sound control. Includes information
on STCs (Sound Transmission Classes) and ways to improve the sound
control in one's house.
In the
year 2000, the city of Chicago responded to complaints from residents
about the airport traffic noise coming from O'Hare Airport. The city
produced a 36-page manual so homeowners could protect themselves from
the airport traffic noise.
A 24 page
document by the North American
Insulation Manufacturer Association specifically designed for
builders. It illustrates how to build wall assemblies to achieve desired
STCs (sound transmission classes).
